John B. Martin, Sr.
Oklahoma City real estate development and construction
John B. Martin, Sr. was born December 18, 1912, in Oklahoma City, a native Oklahoman. His parents were J.T. Martin, M.D., and Margaret Burke Martin. The Martins came to Oklahoma in 1889 from Missouri; the Burkes came in the early 1900s from Iowa.
He graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City in 1930 and from the University of Notre Dame in 1934. His business life was spent in Oklahoma City in real estate development and construction.
He was married to Margaret Makins Martin. Their children included John B. Martin, Jr.; Charles J. Martin; Bob Martin; Jim Martin; and Sally Harrison.
